Jewish Day School of the Lehigh Valley

For those families interested in a more intensive Jewish educational experience, The Jewish Day School in Allentown offers an excellent program of secular and Judaic studies for children in primary kindergarten through grade eight. Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley

The Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley funds and supports a community-wide network of organizations that do two things:
1. Care for people in need here at home, in Israel and around the world.
2. Nurture and sustain the Jewish community today and for future generations.
In conjunction with this, Federation publishes HAKOL, the only Jewish community newspaper in the Lehigh Valley.

Bethlehem features two great hospitals:
The Muhlenberg location of the Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network is located about a mile west of Brith Sholom. Go to the Facilities & Directions section of their website and then click on Muhlenberg.

Lehigh Valley Arts, Cultural, Tourist and Other Resources:

Hanover Township offers a variety of programs and services to its residents. Please check their website.

Bethlehem has many historic tourist attractions. Please check them out at the Historic Bethlehem site.

Philadelphia's National Museum of American Jewish History.

Every summer, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival is held at DeSales University in nearby Center Valley. Current season information may be found here.

The Philadelphia Phillies' Triple AAA baseball club, the Iron Pigs, moved to the Lehigh Valley in 2008. For the schedule of games and ticket information, go to the Iron Pigs site.

  Beautiful art galleries and professional meeting space are at the Banana Factory.


Wind Creek Casino In 2007, Sands Casino Resort purchased former Bethlehem Steel plant -- Wind Creek has bought it and there is a casino, performing arts venue, mall, etc.


Steel Stacks
  Once the home plant of Bethlehem Steel, SteelStacks is a ten-acre campus dedicated to arts, culture, family events, community, education and fun.


Touchstone Theatre
  Founded in 1981, Touchstone Theatre is a professional not-for-profit theatre dedicated to the creation of original work.


Pennsylvania Playhouse 
The community theater, known today as Pennsylvania Playhouse, presently located on Illicks Mill Road in the City of Bethlehem, was founded in 1946.


Lehigh Valley Arts Council  They promote, encourage and support artists, assist arts organizations, and facilitate communication and cooperation in the arts community.


Bach Choir
  They perform the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, promote and encourage appreciation of the aesthetic and spiritual value of his music through education and performance.


Chamber Music Society of Bethlehem
  They work to further appreciation of chamber music in the greater Lehigh Valley community.


PA Sinfonia Orchestra
  Their Mission is to present live classical music in enjoyable and accessible ways to a diverse and expanding audience in eastern Pennsylvania.


Repertory Dance Theatre
  Repertory Dance Theatre is a fixture on the cultural landscape of the Lehigh Valley, that presents a variety of classical and modern work.


Young People's Philhormonic
  Since 1976, the Young People’s Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley provides aspiring musicians a rich supplement to their musical experiences.


Miller Symphony Hall
  A regional orchestra whose excellence reflects the
vibrancy of the Lehigh Valley, and the performances of dance, opera, theatre, that you enjoy at this beautifully renovated, historic Hall.


Pennsylvania Youth Ballet
  A non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the art of theatre dance, primarily classical ballet, through education and performances.


Baum School of Art
  A community school dedicated to providing instruction, guidance and encouragement for children, adults, and those who wish to reach their highest level of potential through the study of the visual arts.


Barnstone School of Art
  Myron Barnstone, who passed away several years ago, had been training artists, photographers, designers and college bound students since 1974. Now you can study with at his studios, from home or on your phone.


Allentown Arts Museum  Our mission is to enrich the lives of all visitors by engaging, informing, and inspiring them through the activities of preserving, studying, exhibiting, and interpreting important works of visual art.


Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Arts
  They provide a unique environment that fosters a creative, rigorous academic approach to learning and a development of talents in the arts.


Artsquest
  A community-based nonprofit organization that began fostering creativity long before creative placemaking became a popular movement.


Musikfest
  10 days of great, live music on 14 different stages throughout Bethlehem's historic district and the new SteelStacks arts campus, including over 500 FREE performances.


Celticfest  It has blossomed into one of the largest Highland Games and Festival in North America with over 250,000 visitors annually joining in this celebration of all things Celtic.


Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission
  They advise the City of Bethlehem in matters including maintaining and furthering fine arts; and encouraging a cooperative cultural enterprise in the community.
