High Holiday Project Isaiah
Each year, specially designed, paper shopping bags are made available
on Rosh Hashanah. Congregants bring these bags filled with food
items to services at
Kol Nidre. Food is given to the the Kosher and Non-Kosher Food Pantries at Jewish Family Service.
Purim
We also collect food at the Purim eve service for Jewish Family Service.
New Bethany Ministries Soup Kitchen
Brith Sholom volunteers cook and serve lunch on the fourth Tuesday
of each month at the New Bethany Ministries Soup Kitchen
in south Bethlehem. (For
pictures
of the volunteers at work, please go to KUDOS on the home page and enter
2006 in the drop down menu.)
Allentown State Hospital
Four times a year, members of Brith Sholom
and the Rabbi visit Jewish residents at the Allentown State
Hospital. Patients
are served
holiday
meals for the High Holidays, Hanukkah and Passover. Each June, we
have a cookout for residents on the hospital grounds.
Benefits Ambassador Program
Members of Brith Sholom participate in the Benefits Ambassador Program coordinated by Jewish Family Service. The purpose of this program is to help older adults find out about programs and help that is available to them. For more information, please call Robin Rosenau at Jewish Family Service, 610-821-8722.
