Shabbat

main sanctuaryWeekly Shabbat services begin at 9:00 am and are led by Rabbi Allen Juda and Cantor Sam Guncler. We welcome and encourage congregational participation in the service, in the readings and songs, and in the chanting of the weekly Torah portion and the Haftarah. Our desire is for all of our members and guests to feel comfortable in our synagogue.

At the conclusion of each Shabbat service, we welcome all congregants to partake of the Kiddush, a communal meal that provides an opportunity for refreshment and for social interaction - a chance to "shmooze" - to converse with friends, discuss the news of the day, meet new congregants, and catch up on the goings on of the community.

"Green" Shabbat Candles

The Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs has partnered with WholeMade, Inc., an Iowa-based company, to develop Shabbat candles made from soy wax. Unlike conventional candles, which are made from petroleum derivatives, these candles, manufactured in the United States, are made from a renewable resource, soy. Click to order.
