A 4-year partnership of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation that assists communities across North America, through partnerships with JewishFederations and Foundations, to promote after-lifetime giving to benefit local synagogues, Jewish day schools, social service organizations, and other Jewish entities.

For those families interested in a more intensive Jewish educational experience, The Jewish Day School in Allentown offers an excellent program of secular and Judaic studies for children in primary kindergarten through grade eight. Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley

The Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley funds and supports a community-wide network of organizations that do two things:
1. Care for people in need here at home, in Israel and around the world.
2. Nurture and sustain the Jewish community today and for future generations.
In conjunction with this, Federation publishes HAKOL, the only Jewish community newspaper in the Lehigh Valley.

Bethlehem features two great hospitals:
The Muhlenberg location of the Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network is located about a mile east of Brith Sholom. Go to the Facilities & Directions section of their website and then click on Muhlenberg.

The St. Luke’s Health Network began in Bethlehem. For details on all the medical services provided, please go to St. Luke’s’ website.

Colleges and universities
There are outstanding institutions of higher learning in Bethlehem:

There are several hotels/motels near Brith Sholom. The closest to the synagogue within reasonable walking distance are:

  • Best Western, 300 Gateway Drive, 610-866-5800, and look at listing on the right for Bethlehem.
  • Extended Stay America, 3050 Schoenersville Road, 610-866-8480, and then search for Bethlehem.
  • Hampton Inn & Suites, 200 Gateway Drive, 610-868-2442, and search for Bethlehem, Northampton County on the left.
    The Lehigh Valley International Airport website lists a more extensive list of area hotels and motels.

Lehigh Valley Arts, Cultural, Tourist and Other Resources:

Hanover Township offers a variety of programs and services to its residents. Please check their website.

Bethlehem has many historic tourist attractions. Please check them out at the Historic Bethlehem site.

Philadelphia’s National Museum of American Jewish History.

Every summer, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival is held at DeSales University in nearby Center Valley. Current season information may be found here.

The Philadelphia Phillies’ Triple AAA baseball club, the Iron Pigs, moved to the Lehigh Valley in 2008. For the schedule of games and ticket information, go to the Iron Pigs site.
